A coin rests on an empty pad, bounces off one that's taken, and flips a switch when it crosses the lever side. Whatever reaches the foot of the board drops into a berth and scores the number on it.

Odd flips drop a resting coin off its pad, so one drop can bring others down with it, and bumped coins can merge with falling ones into multi-coins worth that many times the score. Here one drop scores 21, then 13.
